Artist Statement
Creating is fundamental to how I experience the world. My paintings are rooted in color, joy, and playfulness. The instinct for surprise and delight comes from my background in public relations and brand marketing—today, I bring that same mindset to my studio. By integrating representational elements with abstraction, unexpected details emerge, elevating my curiosity and discovery from the very first layers.

INDELIBLE A Tribute to the 25th Anniversary of 9/11
New York City has long held a special place in Carolyn's heart. Although she never lived there, she spent countless hours in the city and always felt a profound sense of ‘being home.’
Indelible is Carolyn's personal tribute to New York City and the 25th anniversary of 9/11. She was in downtown Manhattan on September 11, 2001, and witnessed the South Tower being struck. The paintings honor a handful of moments forever etched in her memory, while celebrating the energy, grit, resilience, and enduring spirit that define New York City far beyond that tragic day.
SWITCHBACK Sharp Turns & New Directions
A switchback is a sharp, zigzag turn that allows a mountain trail to climb steep terrain. It also mirrors Carolyn's own journey over the last 18 months, leaving her corporate career earlier than planned to pursue her art full time.
The paintings in Switchback are inspired by her deep connection to the mountains and the profound sense of aliveness they awaken. They reflect the unexpected turns, challenges, and discoveries that have shaped this new chapter, reminding us that life's path is rarely linear - but often leads us to exactly where we're meant to be, whether or not it is what we had planned.
